Why Hiring a Remote Team is The Best Choice For Your Startup

A decade ago, hiring a remote team for your new company might have been a tough choice to make. There were too many technological challenges to overcome when it came to managing a team which was scattered all around the world. However, the story is different today as we are at the threshold of industry 4.0.

Today, with literally no boundaries on connecting technologies in the world, we can easily scale our capabilities of working as much as we want. As a new trend, Remote working was once limited with many clauses, and today, with the availability of hundreds of types of task and team management tools, it has become a global rage.

So, If you are a growing startup, looking out for the best people to put a team together and reach all heights of success, we say, do not think about the proximity of the person to your office and hire them anyway. And if you are still not convinced, let us objectify this choice for you and make it easier.

Why is remote working the future of all companies?

Saving the costs

It is a no-brainer that when you decide to start your own company, keeping your overhead costs lower and avoiding any kind of extra expenditure is vital. Therefore, hiring a remote team can you save you the costs of booking an office space and all of its overhead expenses.

Even if you opt to set up your office in your own home, accommodating employees can still be expensive and with a remote team, you can successfully avoid these costs.

Talent diversity

Naturally, finding the most talented or compatible employees becomes a hassle if you are only looking to hire people according to their proximity to work. And building up a team of remote employees allows you to choose a more culturally diverse as well as a more compatible team.

Additionally, your remote team will consist of people with global experience and that means that you’ll have more versatile expertise in your company which can prove to be of high value to your startup.

Optimum productivity and efficiency

There are numerous studies and surveys done with all the major demographics of the world which prove that remote working substantially improves employee productivity. People working from home tend to take shorter breaks and lesser leaves and in most cases tend to outperform their colleagues working from the office. Thus leading to better employee retention.

This makes remote working teams more efficient with their work. And ultimately these people can be entrusted with more responsibilities in a shorter time-span as compared with their office-bound colleagues.

The technology in place

When we advocate for Remote work culture, it is not without concrete proof and assurance that there is enough technological support available to make it a successful idea.

Unlike the last decade, when our employees were bombarded with an array of softwares to facilitate collaborative working from remote places, today, we have technologies which have congregated all the applications such as document sharing, conferencing, task management, etcetera into one place and make remote team management an easier task.

One great example of such softwares is a virtual whiteboard, which are collaborative working tools which let you have interactive discussions in real-time with your remote colleagues just as you would do in a meeting room. So, having a whiteboard online only means that your collaborative workspaces are not restricted to physical meeting rooms anymore.

In the end…

It doesn’t matter if you have to call up your team leader in Boston from Osaka to introduce your team stationed in Australia with the client in Scotland. It is still going to be a highly organised and productive meeting, all thanks to technology.
